Our Leadership

The functions of KSB as provided in Cap 251 of the laws of Kenya are:
(i) To promote the welfare, education, training, and employment of the blind and to assist in the prevention and alleviation of blindness.
(ii) To assist the government, societies, any institution, organizations or society or person in all matters related to blind.
(iii) To awaken public interest in the welfare of the blind and in all matters relating to blindness.
(iv) To advise on all things necessary or required in any matter to or connected with the blind.

Dr. Hosea Kili MBS

Chairman

Dr. Hosea Kili, OGW is a distinguished executive professional with an impressive career spanning over 20 years in the public sector. He is the current Group Managing Director and CEO of County Pension Fund Financial Services Ltd in Nairobi, Kenya. Dr. Kili is a senior counsel of the High Court of Kenya and has been conferred the Order of the Grand Warrior, a State Commendation by the President of Kenya in 2011 for exemplary service.

Anna Nzilani Ooko

Anna Nzilani is a seasoned professional in the field of marketing and corporate communications, boasting an impressive career spanning over 26 years. With her extensive expertise and wealth of experience, Anna has established herself as a highly regarded expert in her field. Her real passion is in entrepreneurial development having served for more than two decades in the Development Finance Sector. She has honed her skills in SME lending, developing financial products to improve access to SME financing. And identifying potential development partners to mobilizing funds for SME financing. Anna holds a M.A. degree in Communication Studies (UoN), Bachelor of Commerce degree in Marketing (CUEA), Postgraduate Diplomas in Leadership, Business Administration, Public Relations, Procurement and Supplies

Mr. Martin Kieti is an experienced inclusive development consultant with an impressive career spanning over 25 years. With his wealth of expertise, he has dedicated his professional life to promoting inclusive development and creating positive change within communities. Mr. Kieti has served on numerous boards, including Kenya Union for the Blind, Kilimanjaro Blind Trust Africa, Machakos Technical Institute for The Blind, and Likoni School for the Blind.

Samson Waweru

Mr. Samson Waweru has extensive leadership drawn from his background in Political Science. Being an individual who lives with visual impairment and having formerly served as the chairperson of the Society, he possesses a deep comprehension of the diverse obstacles encountered by individuals in similar circumstances.

Dr. Solomon Odhiambo is an accomplished Medical Officer of Health with a distinguished career in healthcare. Dr. Solomon's expertise and commitment to his field have earned him a notable reputation in the medical community.

Charity Muturi is a seasoned development professional with a remarkable career spanning over 20 years. Throughout her journey, she has showcased exceptional leadership, management, and administrative skills within international and local non-governmental organizations (NGOs) operating in the fields of public health and community development

Abdi Moulid

Ministry of Education Representative

Abdi Moulid is a distinguished professional with a strong background in the education sector. Throughout his career, he has held significant leadership positions, making notable contributions to the field. With his expertise and proven track record, Abdi Moulid was appointed as the Deputy Director of Quality Assurance and Standards at the Ministry of Education before being promoted to the position of Deputy Director in charge of Special Needs Education.

Moses Muriithi Kamau

Ministry of Labor & Social Protection Representative

Moses Muriithi Kamau has an extensive background in the education and social protection sectors. With over 20 years of experience, he has played significant roles in promoting social development and improving the lives of individuals in need. Currently, Moses serves as the Deputy Director for Social Development in the State Department for Social Protection and Head of the Disability Program and Rehabilitative Services Division.

Charles N. Waitherero

Council Member

Charles Nguru Waitherero is a children’s officer working with the Directorate of children services. Waitherero is experienced in advocacy on both disability and children’s rights. He is the current president of Kenya Sports Association for the visually impaired (KESAVI), a national sports federation mandated to develop, organize, promote and coordinate all sports activities for the blind and visually impaired people in Kenya. Mr. Waitherero has more than a decade worth of experience in administration of Disability Sports where he has served as Team Manager for Team Kenya with the most notable being when he served as the Team Manager for Team Kenya Paralympic team during the 2022 Commonwealth Games held in Birmingham in the United Kingdom.
