Advocacy is at the heart of our mission to create an inclusive society where persons with visual impairments can enjoy their rights, access opportunities, and participate fully in all aspects of life. We work to influence policies, strengthen legislation, raise public awareness, and promote the inclusion of persons with visual impairments in education, employment, healthcare, governance, and community life.
Our advocacy efforts are guided by the principles of equality, dignity, accessibility, and non-discrimination. We collaborate with government institutions, development partners, organizations of persons with disabilities, civil society, and the private sector to address barriers that limit the full participation of people with visual impairments.
CORE ADVOCACY SERVICES
Policy and Legislative Advocacy
We engage with national and county governments to promote laws, policies, and programmes that uphold the rights of persons with visual impairments. KSB contributes to policy development, provides technical expertise, and advocates for the implementation of disability-inclusive legislation and international commitments.
Disability Rights Awareness
KSB conducts public awareness campaigns to challenge misconceptions about blindness and visual impairment while promoting understanding, inclusion, and respect for the rights and abilities of persons with visual impairments. Through community engagement, media campaigns, and public events, we encourage society to embrace diversity and eliminate stigma and discrimination.
Inclusive Education
We advocate for equitable access to quality education for learners with visual impairments by promoting inclusive learning environments, accessible educational materials, assistive technologies, and appropriate support services. We work closely with education stakeholders to ensure that no learner is left behind.
Economic Empowerment and Employment
Meaningful employment is essential for independence and dignity. KSB advocates for equal employment opportunities, accessible workplaces, inclusive recruitment practices, and skills development programmes that enable persons with visual impairments to participate fully in the workforce and contribute to national
